How Not To Pay Full Price For A Cruise
by Doug Harvey
If you pay full price for a cruise, then you could easily be wasting your money. If you have never taken a cruise, then now would be a good time to consider it, but read on to discover how you could save as much as 30%!
Walking down any town high street you are sure to see travel agents offering their 'deals', but a lot of the time, you can do a lot better by shopping around. You could shop around amongst the high street agencies and that will likely result in a saving, but don't stop there. You can also save by taking a cruise out of season, but that might not be much fun. The weather might not be so great and when you stop to enjoy excursions you might find a number of the land based facilities closed.
So where do you go to find the best deals? There are two very good sources: the internet and 'Teletext' (using the text information on television). Armed with the catalogues from the agencies and the 'deals' they were making available, you can patiently research other offers at better prices and start contacting those found on the internet and through teletext. My wife and I have done exactly this and played companies off against each other which has resulted in lower prices and upgrades on every cruise we have enjoyed so far.
Don't think that as the price has been lower that we have missed out on any aspect of these excellent holidays. We haven't. We simply enjoyed the cruise alongside passengers who had paid a LOT more for exactly the same experience!
Although cruising is sometimes viewed as being an expensive form of holiday, with the aid of researching such savings, the reverse is true. When you book a complete cruise package, you include the flight, the transfers to and from the ship, your accommodation, all the food you can eat (and there is a lot of it!), and all your onboard entertainment along with various facilities such as swimming pool, gym, etc., you end up with excellent value for money.
Of course, if you want to cruise and be paid for it, then perhaps such an idea might appeal to you. You could work your passage cruising to various exotic locations around the world depending on the cruise line you worked with. All food and accommodation is provided and you get to meet great people. Often you do not need much in the way of experience either. Large numbers of new staff are employed every year with a huge variety of posts available. If this idea appeals to you, visit the link in the resource box for further information.
