What should I do first?

Ask yourself some serious questions!

When I'm too settled or no longer have the opportunity, will I wish I had seen more of this world?

Do I need to broaden my horizons?

Wouldn't it be nice to have friends from all over the world?

If I could earn a tax free income to do all the above and save for my future, would I regret missing the chance?

If other normal people have done this, why can't I?

Now make a decision!

I'm going to stick to the life I have now and risk regretting it later.

or

I "can" take this chance, knowing I can return to my current life later, much the richer in so many ways.

Before I go any further I have no vested interest in your decision. I am not an agent offering you a job nor will I take money from you on the premise of dangling dreams. Don't forget it is free to join this website and you are more than welcome even if you decide that going to sea isn't for you. I would be just flattered that you took the time to take an interest. The fact is: It's your life and your chance to do with it what you will, whilst you still have that chance! So make that decision yourself. All I will add is that going to sea was the single greatest decision I ever made, even if some of the decisions I made, without guidance, whilst at sea, weren't.
