Where Will You Work Next?

It is interesting to look at what different cruise lines offer, their itineraries and the clientele they aim at, as well as what the nationality the officers and staff are. Even though the beauty of cruising is the fact that most ships employ sometimes more than 50 nationalities in perfect harmony, it is still important to know that there won’t be a total language barrier the whole time you are there (this makes a good guideline, but I must admit I was approached to work on a Norwegian ship with mainly German passengers which had 'must speak fluent German as part of the job description. They insisted on me joining even though my German was poor at best. I had a great time and my poor German didn't really matter).

Most cruise lines are now under the ownership of ‘Carnival Corporation’ or ‘Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’, who have their own style of management but essentially try to keep the traditions of the cruise line itself.

I have listed a selection of popular cruise lines below attached with a link to their own website.

A lot of the below websites also advertise internal positions on their website so if you are looking to work on any of the following you may be able to apply directly.
