Greg's tip: If you are hiring from on shore, make sure you find out what insurance you are covered for whenever hiring a car. The price may look good but may leave you liable for legal costs if something goes wrong, may have a very high excess insurance, or may not actually be insured at all. Check the engine for oil and water to avoid being stranded like I was in Barbados once. You cannot afford to miss the ship! Also remember that mopeds and motor bikes are dangerous! You won't get any sympathy if you injure yourself. It could cost you your time at sea so best to avoid!
